Hey Everybody,

This Tuesday instead of our usual Vegan Cooking Class, we’ll be having a friendly discussion with Stanford Atheists, Humanists, and Agnostics.

Once and for all we’re going to settle all the big questions of life, over delicious vegan Mexican food, in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

We’ll starting at 7:00 pm with food, in our usual room in the international center, and then the fun will begin with a lively open discussion looking on the current God/Religion debate focusing on Hinduisms contribution to the discussion.

Talk to you soon,
Gaura

sat-sang

Dear Friends,

I was approached by a few different students requesting that we gather together for “Satsang.” Satsang is the term used to describe the association of saintly people or any gathering where we come together for the sake of spiritual enlightenment. Traditionally Satsang usually includes sings songs (bhajans or kirtan), reading from scripture like the Bhagavad Gita or Srimad Bhagavatam or any other vedic scripture, and ofcourse prasad, or sanctified food that has been offered to the Lord.

The word Sat refers to that which is eternal, that which is true, that which is our actual nature, and the nature of God. Sangha means association or community. A satsang is an opportunity to come together in a spirit of true community, in pursuit of the highest goal of life, to love God with all our heart and soul, and to develop a spirit of genuine love for all our brothers and sisters.

Please, please join us for Satsang, this Saturday 7:00 pm in the Hindu Student Prayer Room. (Old Union 3rd Floor).

Sincerely,

Gauranga Kishore Das
